Batu Pahat Marathon Club

CLUB PROFILE

The Persatuan Marathon Batu Pahat was formed in 1994 to promote running and other healthy outdoor activities. The club has about 150 members from all walks of life. Our official runsite is at Hutan Lipur Bukit Perdana Batu Pahat where members meet and jog together every Saturday at 6:00 pm. For more training we gather every Tuesday and Thursday at Tasik Y, 6:00 pm, and on Sunday mornings for long runs. Members enjoy gym facilities at our own clubhouse. Our members are active participants in local races with outstanding results.

The last 3 years have seen a surge in the number of our members going for outstation runs. Events that are popular with our members include the Pacesetters 15km & 30km Runs, the Seremban Half Marathon and the KL International Marathon.

Members also get to enjoy special discounts for running shoes. Our club is registered with the Registrar of Societies and the election of Committee Members is usually held in the month of March/April during the Annual General Meeting.

The club is not organizing a Marathon CHarity Nite in December
The club is not organizing any running events in 2008 due to the many quality runs already found around the country
Any schools/associations/clubs around the Batu Pahat area who needs helps in co-organizing running events can contact Roger Ong at 016-7209928.
20 members have registered for the Oct 12th Borneo International Marathon 2008. Those interested to join the travelling party can contact Roger Ong.
The club will be participating in 3 major events in 2009. They are the Great Eastern Pacesetters 30K on Jan 18th, the AMBank KL Marathon on Feb 22nd, and the Ocean to Ocean Relay in Thailand on Mar 22nd. Those interested to join under the club's banner can contact any of the EXCO.
